After last, 33rd round, of Meridian Super league, Smederevo footballers finished on 10th position, and despite this win over Cukaricki, they will have to confirm their super league status with two barrage matches with one first league team.
Smederevo started this match without Mudrinic, who suffered injury during warm up but newer the less home team dominated whole first half. Most of first 45 minutes were played in front of Cukaricki’s goal, with lot of good opportunities but like in previous matches without accurate finish. Mladenovic had few excellent opportunities but we should also mention couple attempts from Popovic, Kasom, Cukic etc. On the other side, Cukaricki was focused on counter attacks with few serious distance attempts.
Second half was little bit different. Guest team managed to establish equilibrium and match entered in more peaceful phase without excitements. In finish of the match, in 85th minute, Atanackovic scored the only goal. Attack started with Djuraskovic who aimed for the far post. The ball flew over all defenders, bounced of the ground and Atanackovic with the header hit the other side of Isailovic’s goal.
Unfortunately this win wasn’t enough to automatically secure position in the Super league for the next season and Smederevo is facing two barrage matches scheduled for 7th and 11th of June, and possible opponents are BSK, Rad, Vozdovac and Metalac. |
